Our Curriculum

We run classes on the basis of two types of Individual Education Plans

  • i) Academic Based curriculum
  • ii) Sensory Based Curriculum
  • In Academic Based Curriculum we include subjects like Math, Science, Social Studies, English, and Nepali for the students who demonstrate natural ability to do well in such academic subjects to link them in national curriculum. Similarly, we include subjects like Concept (which provides the idea of quantity, measurement, shape, size, time, color etc) Art, Communication, Life skills, My Surrounding, Independent Work Station, Logical Reasoning, Academic Reading +Academic Writing which basically include numerical, alphabets and vocab laries, Role Play and Brain Gym programs for the students who cannot do well in academic area to prepare them for Vocational purpose.

To conclude, Academic Based Curriculum prepares students on two different patterns. Firstly, it links students with national curriculum providing them knowledge of basic subjects. Similarly, it prepares students for vocational program providing them knowledge through the subjects like Communication, Concept, Surrounding, Role play and Brain Gym programs.

In Sensory Based Curriculum we include five basic aspects.

  • i) Fundamental Sensory stage
  • ii) Imitation Stage
  • iii) Play Stage
  • iv) Re-bounce Stage
  • v) Play Motion with objects stage
  • In fundamental sensory stage we work with the students who just get enrollment at our school. The students in this stage come to us with a lot of sensory issues. We provide planned sensory therapies and guidance to those students in order to address their basic sensory need. Then, students will develop sitting tolerance, eye hand co ordination. Similarly, the students will have improvement in vestibular and proprioceptive aspects as well.

In Imitation stage the students will become more calm and stable as their basic sensory necessities have already been addressed. They will start imitating their teacher’s and parents’ gestures/ actions. Consequently, they will start learning academic activities and pre writing skills. In Play stage the students will be able to dance and do posture movements independently. They will do activities such as: Rotating things with fingers, Pulling/ Pushing, Direction following activities. In Re-bounce stage the students will be able to hold objects from distance, they will be able to catch reversing objects, do catch and throw activities, do dribbling, bouncing etc.

In Play Motion with objects stage the students will be able to play Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, rotate up down with posture adjustment independently and they will be able to move their body on the instructed direction as well.

To conclude, Sensory Based Curriculum enhances physical independence level of the students that leads them to live a healthy independent life.
